Sabrina Hahn completed her horticultural qualifications at Bentley TAFE in 1987, further studied a Bachelor of Applied Science at WAIT in and a degree of Social Sciences at Edith Cowan University. She is now considered to be one of the leading experts in Horticulture in WA and has lectured at Edith Cowen University, University of Western Australia and TAFE colleges in Kalgoorlie and Fremantle. 

Sabrina has worked in both radio and television for many years, and has been the gardening talkback presenter for ABC radio for over 25 years. She has appeared as a television presenter for Gardening Australia and Garden Gurus. Sabrina also writes a regular weekend gardening article for the West Australian newspaper and also writes for The Organic Gardener and Gardening Australia magazine.

Sabrina is a much sort after public speaker and MC for city and rural events on sustainability issues, development of community gardens, open space policy and Indigenous gardens. She has worked as a designer and consultant for the Gasgoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Cultural Centre in Carnarvon and horticultural consultant for the Town of Port Headland.

She has been a long campaigner for sustainable development, and is a major consultant for many organisations including Woodlands to provide them appropriate planting guides to suit the environment. She has worked in a consulting capacity for many local WALGA councils and developers to make more sustainable decisions when landscaping, including soil amendments, species selection, remnant bushland, fertiliser selection, and strategies to mitigate the Urban Heat Island Effect.

Since 2008 Sabrina is the horticultural consultant to ‘EON’ to develop and help install edible gardens in remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley. Sabrina’s commitment to improving the health of people living in remote areas through the development of edible gardens is a major achievement and ongoing.

  • Horticultural consultant for Foundation Housing Group
  • Developing a policy document for the City of Armadale on Public Open Space Planning
  • Consultant to the City of Melville on creating better neighbourhoods through improved park design and greater community involvement
  • Consultant to Natureplay on designing adventure gardens for children aged from 4 – 13 years
  • Consultant to City of Cambridge on street tree selection for a changing climate.
